A Sailor's Yarn


Allie and Sallie, you see this ship!
I sent it off to-day on a trip,
And away it went, with Sails all full
Over the waves of the old mill pool.

The ducks, how they stared with winking eyes,
And curved their necks at the strange surprise!
And on it sailed till it nearly ran
Into the side of a great big swan!

But out of danger it soon did glide,
And safely reached the other side.
