Holiday Song

Away, away, With cheerful lay,
And lightsome hearts we go,
To spend in play Our holiday
Where the fresh breezes blow.

The sun is shining bright and clear,
The lark is soaring high;
All nature smiling far and near
Beneath a cloudless sky.

Arise! arise Come, ope your eyes,
And drive dull sloth away.
Who slumb'ring lies May lose the prize
Of this bright holiday.

Then loudly sing each youthful voice,
A joyful chorus raise,
And show how boys and girls rejoice
To welcome summer days.

When all around Each rural sound
Is whispering peace and love,
Oh, surely we Should happy be,
And these glad hours improve.

And when our day of pleasure's o er,
And homeward we must go,
We'll seek by diligence once more
Our gratitude to show.

Then away, away With cheerful lay,
And lightsome hearts we go,
To spend in play Our holiday
Where the fresh breezes blow.
